Nowadays, it is extremely common for people to study online at home. Although it has some advantages, i don’t believe that the effect of this mode is as fine as studying at school.
People will not have a ability of self-discipline, when they are at home, where people always have a feeling of lazy and relaxation. It’s not only because there is always a bed waiting for you to lie on but also because nobody can supervise the behavior of you. Without the atmosphere of study, many of them may thus be addictive on their mobile phone and less time is spent on their books and homework. Lacking of enough time of study, they could perform awfully in the examination and they will not find a good position in the future. In contrast, people who have class with the way of attending university can command these knowledge better because of the learning atmosphere there.
Another deficiency is lacking of some necessary equipments, such as laboratory. People can only learn some knowledge through words, images and videos, which is less vividly and impressive compared with doing an experiment by themselves. After class, they may only remember some methods and solutions theoretically. When they are required to do such a thing alone in the workplace, they will face many problems and can not finish the tasks in time. Before long, their leaders may loose the confidence for these people and they won’t get the chance to promote in the future.
On the other hand, learning at home can be effective to many people who live far away from the university. Because when you study at home, you don’t have to spend your valuable time on commuting, and the only thing you need to do is just opening your laptop and watching the lessons online. The consequence is that much time can be saved for you to do some other things which is beneficial to your academic performance like solving more questions, watching some extra online courses and so on. This will promise you a better competitiveness when you finish your school career.
To be concluded, while some time can be saved, studying at home will probably lead to a worse performance.
