Nowadays, it is common for people to immigrate from countrysides to modern cities. although this may promise a better life, i don’t believe it is reasonable.
Many people consider that there are more opportunities for them in their vocation careers which may have face some barriers and difficulties in a small city. It is not only because there are many headquarters of big companies located in big cities but only because much more chances for promotion can be offered in this kind of companies. If they perform well in workspaces and successfully win the recognition by their leaders, they can get a much higher salary than before. With such a large number of money, they can have the ability to improve their standard of life and give their children a better condition to grow up. Otherwise, maybe they can only maintain their basic living in rural areas.
In my opinion, i do not think it is a good phenomenon, because people may have a sense of loneliness when they move to big cities in the first several years. People are used to the environment in rural areas and most of their friends probably live there too, but now, because of the immigrant, they can not keep in touch with their best friends as frequently as before. That is to say, they can not easily find someone else to play with and to kill the time together. In such a stranger environment, they need to learn to adapt to it from beginning and this process must be extremely hard.
Another deficiency is that the environment in urban places is much worse compared with that in rural places, because almost everyday there are a large number of cars running on the street everyday, which can emit much green house gas into the air and make the air quality worse. If someone live in this kind of air condition for a long time, they may thus suffer from some diseases related to it and the life expectancy may become shorter than before. The consequence is that much money need to be spend in the aspect of medicine and the life quality may have a dramatic drop.
To be concluded, while someone can earn much more money in the city, the friends and the environment problems need to be taken in consideration before moving to the city.
